The endocrine system includes glands throughout the body that make hormones. Hormones are chemical messengers and affect processes throughout the body.

Endocrine disorders can cause hormone levels to be too high or too low, or they may cause the body to not respond to hormones the way it is supposed to.

Endocrine disorders are usually treated by controlling how much hormone your body makes or taking hormone supplements if the problem is too little of a hormone.

Utah currently screens for the following Endocrine Disorders:

Children diagnosed with Endocrine Disorders receive care from the Endocrinology Clinic at Primary Children’s Hospital.
